Hi! This week I spent with Malin and Lisa. We had a lot of fun.In Sweden we celebrate Lucia. Lucia is actually an Italian saint who we have made our own. All pupils went to the assembly hall early in the morning. Then came the Lucia procession. In the procession there are girls with long white dresses and candles in their hands and tinsel in their hair, Santa Clauses helpers, Star boys and one Lucia. She is also called the queen of light. Malin and Lisa were Santa Clauses helpers and me too. I had a beard and a little red knitted cap. Then we sing songs, very special for this occasion. We were really good.Next week I’m going to be with Simon.

Bye bye my dear friends/Buttons.

Say hi to Måna and Sven-Göran (Svennis) from me.

horse riding fun

We had great fun with Anna and Pallavi. First of all we had a long train journey where we sat while Pallavi and Anna stood!(they also took our photo) Once we got to Montrose station we had a short trip in the car to get to Anna's house. We saw Anna's model horses which looked really cool! We ate Chilli corn pie for dinner and for dessert we had doughnuts. They dressed us up in pajamas but we were so sleepy that we fell asleep while they were trying to take our photos.
We woke up so late that we missed Pallavi going home. After breakfast(toast)Anna took us horse riding on Scottie a Welsh Horse.

Scotland vs. Italy

match day
Scotland vs Italy
Rory took us home with him to watch an important football game. The preparation for the game was the main thing - getting the food ready for the guests and getting out the football strips and kilts. We even got dressed up in kilts, as you can see in our photograph. When the game began, our hearts were thumping like a drum beat. In the starting minutes we were already sad as Italy scored. There was still hope as the rest of the game was still to come. In the second half there was some hope as Scotland scored and everyone was jumping up and down. But in the dying seconds, Italy scored and Scotland were out. Sad as we were, we kept our heads up high.

Astrid Lindgren 100 years.

This wednesday on the 14th of November it was 100 years since Astrid Lindgren was born. We celebrated this with singing her songs in the assembly hall, we dressed up as characters in her books and ate a very looooong cake. I happened to run into Pippi herself in the library. The students wonder if we read her books in Scotland.

All the students in Dalaskolan painted pictures of Pippi Longstocking. The pictures were put up everywhere in school.

Look at this amazing cake! What a birthday party!

Buttons´ weekend with Joakim, 9th-11th of Nov

Hi Dundee!
I had very fun at the disco. Joakim has pictures but Joakim hasn’t got them yet so I think that you’ll se them sooner or later.
Now to the disco: First there came pupils class 1-3 between 6 and 8 PM.After that where the students from grade 4-6. We had a school disco to get money to a class trip and if we take away all we bought to arrange the disco we have got 6000 Swedish crowns(kr) and that is about 600€.
I got a little hungry and they had no chocolate buttons=( so I drank some coka cola and ate some candy.
Edvin wasn’t there so Joakim needed to take care of me alone.
Last weekend I was in Joakims house and it was fun to look at all the fishes in his aquarium.

Haunted Halloween Party!

We're both so glad that Buttons has arrived safely. (Hope he hasn't been too naughty.) Can't wait to hear what you have all been doing. We've been having loads of fun in Scotland. We arrived at Dundee (a small city) and are staying at the High School of Dundee. We recently celebrated a fun but scary event called Halloween with Jenna and Olivia. This event takes place on the 31st of October every year. Halloween first came in the early 1800's and is still celebrated today. Everyone dresses up in scary outfits and visits houses to tell jokes and in return gets lots of treats and goodies. People dress up in scary outfits to remember how the Celts would light a fire to burn away their bad sins. We went to a spooky Halloween party and went trick or treating around the streets. (Between us both we had one treat too many and are feeling a little sick but are recovering fast.) Can't wait to talk to you soon,

love Mana and Sven-Goran.

P.S ( Here are some pictures of us dressed up!)

Buttons has arrived

Hi everyone!!!
Now I´m here. It was really quite nice to be wrapped up and sent away. The Swedish customs got suspicious and probably thought that I was carrying something strange because they opened my package.

There is a autumn holiday right now so I have not met the students yet. The teachers are here working but the children will not be back until monday. Booooring!!! Anyway, I stay with Mrs Ulvelid and her family together with Whisky, the bull. The daughter in the family fell truly in love with me and Whisky was degraded to sleep in little brother´s bed. Till next time. Say hello to Måna and Svennis from me!

Måna Larsson och Sven-Göran Eriksson is off to Dundee

Here they are! Måna and Svennis, a bit nervous about going so far away from home. But since they have each others company we are not worried. So we, in class 6B at Dala school, say: Have fun, take care of each other and tell us all about your adventures!!!
By the way: Måna is pronounced like the English version Mona. The swedish letter å(a with a small circle on top) is pronounced like "o" in "fore".
